Trinity's James Treadwell ends regular season tennis undefeated in week's top performances (2025)

Here's a list of Montgomery-area high school top performances for April 5-11, 2025.

Baseball

Friday, April 11

Montgomery Academy fell, 14-1, and 12-11 to Alabama Christian Academy. Graham Martin and William Marks both had three hits and two RBIs in the, 12-11, loss.

Thursday, April 10

Opp's Nolan Brown hit 3-for-4 with three singles, two RBIs and two runs scored in an, 18-1, win against Straughn. Dawson Peacock was winning pitcher, throwing five innings, striking out seven batters and allowing one run on four hits.

Tuesday, April 8

Opp's Porter Nelson was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 batters, in an, 11-3, come-from-behind win against Straughn to clinch the team's 7th-straight area title. Nelson allowed no earned runs. He hit 2-for-4 with a single, a double, and one RBI, and scored one run.

Softball

Thursday, April 10

Opp's Jaidyn Ivey hit 3-for-3 with three singles and two RBIs, and Bradleigh Lanier's time at bat included a solo home run in a, 7-2, win against Enterprise. Winning pitcher Addison Moseley pitched three innings, allowing one unearned run, one hit and five strikeouts.

Opp's Addison Moseley got her second win of the afternoon in the second game of a doubleheader, an, 8-2, victory against Dothan. Moseley pitched four innings, striking out eight batters and giving up two hits.

Prattville Christian Academy's Chloe Hollon drove in five runs on three hits in a, 19-6, win against LAMP. Hollon's home run to center field scored two second-inning runs. Her triple in the first inning scored one run, a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning scored a run, and a double in the fifth inning scored a run.

Tuesday, April 8

Opp's Rylie Kate Thrash hit a game-ending, walk-off solo home run in a, 2-1, win against Headland in the Dothan Diamond Classic.

Opp's Crislyn Birge hit 3-for-3 with three singles, one RBI and a run scored in an, 11-2, win against Carroll-Ozark in Game 2 at the Dothan Diamond Classic.

Prattville Christian Academy's Chloe Hollon drove in five runs on three hits in a, 15-4, win against Marbury. Hollon's play included a 5th-inning home run to left field that scored two runs, a triple in the 6th inning that scored two, and a single in the 4th that scored one run.

Trinity Presbyterian's Marley Sharpless supplied power on both sides of the ball, earning an, 8-7, win against Alabama Christian Academy, allowing eight hits and one walk over seven innings on the mound. At the plate, Sharpless hit 3-for-4 with two singles, a double, one RBI and two runs scored.

Boys golf

Mon./Tue., April 7-8

Montgomery Academy's Jackson McIntyre shot the team's low round, 75, in play at Dothan's Raider Eagle tournament.

Boys soccer

Tuesday, April 8

Montgomery Academy's Tanner Bartgis scored the overtime-winning goal and also the match-tying goal in a, 4-3, win against Enterprise.

Montgomery Catholic goalkeeper Michael Sheffield, in his first time playing that position, recorded six saves on six shots on goal for a shutout, 3-0, win against LAMP.

Prattville Christian Academy's Cooper Dunn scored the team's lone goal in a, 3-1, loss to Lee-Scott Academy.

Girls soccer

Friday, April 11

Montgomery Catholic's Anna Russo scored two goals and assisted on goals by Eryn Owens and Kate Johnson in a, 4-0, win against Trinity Presbyterian.

Prattville Christian Academy's Addison Sutton scored both goals in a, 2-2, tie against Charles Henderson.

Thursday, April 10

Saint James' Ragan King scored two goals and Natalie Barton made three assists in a, 5-0, win against Wetumpka.

Wednesday, April 9

Saint James' Natalie Barton and KK Corley both scored twice in a, 7-0, win against Tallahassee.

Tuesday, April 8

Montgomery Catholic's Anna Russo scored five goals and made an assist on one of Kate Johnson's three goals in a, 10-0 win against LAMP.

Boys tennis

Friday, April 11

Montgomery Academy's John Alford and Jackson Brown won their 100th match as doubles partners in the team's, 7-2, win against Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

Thursday, April 10

Trinity Presbyterian senior James Treadwell celebrated the team's Senior Day with a singles win against Opelika that gave him another undefeated regular season in singles and capped an undefeated career singles milestone in his six seasons at Trinity. Treadwell began playing on the varsity team in 7th grade. His win on Thursday gave him an 18-0 singles record in 2025 and a 19-0 doubles record this season. The wins gave him an overall career record of 124-5 in singles and 121-9 in doubles. Treadwell is the 2021 and 2024 state singles champion and was state singles runner-up in 2023. He finished as the state's doubles runner-up in 2022, 2023 and 2024. He was the singles and doubles section champion every year except 2020, an unfinished season cut short due to COVID.

Wednesday, April 9

Montgomery Academy's John Alford and Jackson Brown have both won 100 career doubles matches each and won their 99th as a duo in a, 9-0, team win against Houston Academy.

Tuesday, April 8

Montgomery Academy, in an, 8-1, win at Auburn, got singles wins from John Alford, Jackson Brown, Ford Morano, Edwin Wu and Liam Baker and doubles wins from Alford-Brown, Morano-Wu and Anton Yang-Bo Johnston.

Girls tennis

Tuesday, April 8

Montgomery Academy's Gabby Barrera won her match at No. 1 singles and teamed with Lola Campbell at No. 1 doubles for a win in a, 7-2, team loss to Mountain Brook.

Boys track and field

Saturday, April 5

Montgomery Academy's Knox Wingate placed 1st in pole vault and 4th in javelin at the Enterprise Invitational. Trey White, Price McLemore, Ian Farley and Frank Williford won the 4x800 meter relay. White placed 1st in the 800 meters, and Matt Cone won the 3200 meters. The team finished 4th overall.

Girls track and field

Saturday, April 5

Montgomery Academy's Livia Dwyer placed 1st in the 1600 meters and 2nd in the 800 meters at the Enterprise Invitational. Elle Ingram won the 800 meters. The team finished 4th overall.
