The Granville Island Public Market is a local favorite for its fresh food and produce stalls, as well as its entertaining events. It's located in the bustling Granville Island district and is open seven days a week.

This is a great market to visit. You can find lots of fresh and different foods, ingredients and more and just by going there is a great thing to do by itself. Try the food from the market and walk around to discover new flavors, ingredients, artwork and more. You can buy your food, seat outside watching the amazing view from False Creek and just be happy. Like really happy.

Great place for food but it is pricey. Lots of exotic fruits and vegetables that are hard to find. There's something for everyone at the public market :) currently no extra vendors due to covid :( some of the buskers are very good entertainment

Its lively atmosphere and diverse array of local vendors offer a unique glimpse into the city's culture. While there, don't miss the opportunity to embark on a scenic ferry tour through False Creek. I love this public market. I always go back when I’m in Vancouver area. They have great food and drinks. During the holidays they have additional gift vendors as well. I highly recommend some pastries from Stuart’s bakery…I’d get the cinnamon wheel!

This is an absolutely wonderful market style place to spend some time looking at all of the wonderful food for sale! The sights, sounds, colors, smells are so fantastic! All the feels! Fresh produce and meat. Many brunch and lunch options. Beautiful picturesque, outdoor patio seating for dining on trays purchased at the market

Always fun to visit here. Lots of shops and markets. I love the art galleries. Outdoor music, fresh seafood, and lots of souvenirs for the tourists. Weekdays are a bit less traffic and cloudy days are even better to avoid the crowds. Beer and wine now sold as a pilot program.

I love this place!! So many good food places, cute shops and souvenirs, and great place to walk around and soak in the fresh air by the water!!Parking can be hard but there are a few parking garages. Our parking machine was wonky so we had to walk over to another garage to find a machine that worked. You might have to download their app too. It’s worth it to spend time at this amazing market and collection of everything else!

One of the best public markets I have ever visited. Some amazing food options available here. Also a beautiful lookout point with views of the city skyline and the river.A must visit for every tourist in Vancouver.

A totally different vibe from the rest of Vancouver. Impossible though it seems, it is even more relaxed!A fabulous selection of craft, fashion and souvenir shops alongside a fantastic indoor market with green grocery, butchery, fresh seafood and craft stalls mixed in with a myriad of food stands.Made all the more enjoyable by a short ferry ride from Thurlow on English Bay.

A spectacular public market where anyone can find something yummy to bring home. It’s easy to get lost here for hours with the large amount of shops, restaurants, and bakeries. If I lived nearby, this would be my go to spot to find ingredients for any meal. If you’re not from the area, put this on your bucket list. You won’t regret it!

So lovely here! Very quaint local public market, antique vibe, hangars transformed into cute little local shops, views in every direction, art everywhere, cozy little streets, boathouses, hotels and restaurants , street performers are all here. There's also rental bikes, plenty of parking (free after 5 pm daily), and an actual covered market. Food there can be a hit and miss, so is the service sometimes, but overall prices are good, restaurants are plentiful, atmosphere is charming, so overall it's a must visit! As a local I'm there regularly just strolling and visiting with friends for a bite. Definitely a destination for everyone, tourists or locals, groups, families, or solo explorers

The public market of Granville Island, overlooking the sea view of the peninsula. It is a fantastic market to walk around and taste various foods. There are lots of food stalls, as well as fresh fruit, veg and fish. We tried some amazing local delicacies of 'candied salmon'. Some of the food prices are a bit higher than elsewhere but I suppose this reflects the independent food stalls. Definitely worth a visit!

Was told to visit this place and surrounding shops on the Island on our recent trip to Vancouver. We caught the ferry across to it from the terminal near Sunset beach. The market is similar to Pike Place Market in Seattle with lots of fresh produce stalls interspersed with eateries and other types of shops. Nice outdoor seating area overlooking the water way too to eat your fare and relax. If your lucky your may meet the bird of pray which I believe is a Harris Hawk used to deter flying rats (pigeons and seagulls)

Very busy during peak hours. Quiet in the evening when I was there, but most places were closed. The market is wonderful, lots of fresh produce and yummy coffee. Easily accessible washrooms. There are often people playing music in the center, which is lovely to sit and enjoy a bite to eat or coffee. Nearby there are many gift shops, restaurants, and tour boat excursions.

Nikki — Google review

Very busy spot with scenic views of the mountains and skyline. Expensive products but that’s to be expected at these types of markets. Lots of people sat outside eating fish and chips as it was a sunny day. I went on a Sunday around lunchtime so it was filled with tourists and locals, and had to slide past people inside the markets, it was so crammed. I’d recommend going early to avoid the crowds.

This is a nice market that is worth visiting. It is the main attraction on the island and is primarily a food market with the sale of fruit, vegetables, meat and seafood and quite a few reading places. There are also a number of stalls that sell non food products such as jewellery, ceramics and other items (one in particular that I would like to mention because I collect them was selling knives that would have been make by indigenous people before the use of metal - these were knives with blades made from obsidian - quite unique). It is easy to walk around but can be quite busy and get a little crowded. Being tourists my wife and I caught a ferry from the city for the short ride to the island for a cost of a few dollars.

We took a ferry to the island and had a good time. We walked around and were in and out of many shops. It's a beautiful place and offers a lot of shopping experiences. It would help if tourists knew how to navigate better while they're visiting.

Fabulous. What a wonderful experience. The whole place is so clean and well cared for and maintained. Plenty of washrooms. Really amazing quality and varieties of food. Lots of fresh fruit. Bakers meat, cakes, desserts, sandwiches. So much to offer. We also sampled a cocktail in the distillery. Excellent service and drinks. Highly recommend the distillery and the market. The whole area is also dedicated to arts and theatre.

A must stop for visitors. Our family of six came up to Vancouver from Portland for a couple days of adventure and we all loved Granville Island and Market so much, we visited twice! Shopping boutiques, local artists, all the food, it was the highlight of our trip. We arrived early to find parking- we were visiting on a Tuesday and Wednesday and heard parking is impossible on weekends. On Wednesday we took an aqua bus to Yale Town and explored there on foot for a few hours before heading back to our car and lunch at Granville Island. This really is a special place and our kids are sure to remember our explorations of food and fun here when remembering our Vancouver adventures.

Good vibe! It’s a happy public place by the river. People playing music and singing. Vegetables are fresh. Lots of cuisines! The one which we love was Ala mode…. Must try.

This place is amazing. If someone doesn't like this place then they suck at life...Seriously. The surrounding scenery is amazing and all the food stalls get your taste buds all worked up! The aromas in certain parts took me back to my Paris travels. The restrooms! With all the people using the restrooms. They are extremely clean! I would not mind handling business if needed.Spend a day and enjoy life.

Nice place, great view of waterfront and Vancouver downtown.Lively atmosphere, live street music. The market itself has great selection of various foods like Italian, German, Cantonese etc. Some local crafts are being sold here too.But for me all was quite pricey. There are couple of breweries with craft beer. You can reach there by car but it is better to take a boat or an aquabus.

Beautiful, clean, and yummy. There are so many good things to try. Everyone is kind and it's so nice. Great donuts, lovely cheeses, and the bakeries are wow. You can't go wrong here. Lovely stores, too. Go get a beer on the pier.

Yuval K — Google review

You basically could find everything you could eat in this market. the cake was amazing as well. Love the atmosphere in here, allthough it is quite crowded. but the food is still fresh

Triet N — Google review

I could live in this market, it’s an amazing array of local foods and products! There are food options for everyone, so it’s definitely worth a visit! Keep an eye out for seating as it’s difficult to get a seat on the weekend and there will be people watching for you to leave your table on the busy days.

Lydia C — Google review

This is an amazing place with all sorts of amazing food/drink! There are a number of other shops focused on local talent/artists. Great place to spend a day. Plenty of boat tours available to see local wildlife and scenery. Parking is limited so if you can come by aquabus or some other form of public transportation, I would definitely recommend it.

Kat S — Google review

This is one of the best public markets I have ever been to. Some of the coolest stores at this market and amazing fresh fruit, veggies, spices, restaurants, seafood and more. All at a very reasonable price! We got a delicious fruit tart and also the rotating art collection was rock art turned into animals. Stunning!

Danilo M — Google review

Great market. Really relaxing and a lovely environment. Would really recommend. Lots of places to eat and many fabulous shops. A fantastic place for families. Quite hard to get there but once you're there it's a delight.

Granville Island is such a cool place. It’s referred to as the “Granville Island Market” because of the indoor market with lots of cool shops selling souvenirs, interesting gifts, an assortment of foods, produce and more. We didn’t plan but about four hours there although you could easily spend all day here. It’s nice and relatively clean for a high traffic and tourist area. This place also hosts many performing arts shows and cultural festivals. It gets crowded and parking is limited, so lots of cars constantly driving around looking to park. Overall we really enjoyed this place and wish we spent more time there.

A great place to visit, feeling the abundance of all kinds of food - fruits, vegetables, seafood, cold cut, sausages, bread and pastry, ice-cream … the choices are endless. The food is a bit more expensive than other grocery store however they have a great varieties of choice. Totally love it.

Very nice and lively public market! I was here on a Tuesday evening and it was still packed with visitors. It's just expected because this is a typical tourist spot after all. Lots of vendors and shops! There are tables and seats outside and a nice view of the city! Also beware of the seagulls! They're sneaky little thieves!

When in the Vancouver area a visit to Granville Island public market should be on the to do list. While you can easily walk to it id suggest getting the seabus over to it. For around $5 a person it's a quick three minute boat trip across and then you're into the public market which is a remarkable collection of artisan products offering the very best produce albeit for a premium price, but you'd expect that and quality costs and there's quality wherever you look here. There's a lot to see so expect to spend several hours looking around and I'd also recommend getting there early, for around 10am, as it will get busy with tourists from around midday. Highly recommended.

Lots of shops - fresh fruits and vegetables, artisan cheese, crafts, desserts, donuts, ice cream - you name it. Even an entire hall dedicated to toys/kids stuff.I really enjoyed walking around the stalls and the pathways around the island and false creek.

Really enjoyed our time here.Grabbed a bite to eat before our boat tour.Fresh veggies and breads to be had. Was not too busy on the Tuesday morning we went, but was a wee bit busy when we arrived back from our boat tour around 4 pm.Lots to enjoy here

During a long weekend in Vancouver, I made sure to include a visit to Granville Island Public Market in my trip plans and recommendations. This market has become one of my favorite spots, offering a wonderful and vibrant atmosphere.I absolutely adore open markets like this one, where you can not only buy fresh produce and goods but also enjoy a bite to eat right on the premises. The market is atmospheric, clean, and beautifully maintained, making it a pleasure to stroll through. The selection here is impressive, with a wide array of vegetables, fruits, meats, and more. You can grab a meal and enjoy it at one of the many seating areas, while listening to live music playing on the street.Getting to Granville Island Public Market is easy and enjoyable as well. You can reach it by a charming small ferry, which adds a unique touch to your visit, or on foot across the scenic bridge, offering lovely views along the way. However, a word of caution: be mindful of the seagulls. These birds can be quite aggressive and might try to snatch your food if you're not careful.Overall, Granville Island Public Market is a must-visit destination in Vancouver for anyone who loves open markets and fresh, tasty food.

We came over to Granville Island Public Market via Aquabus on a Wednesday at around 10 AM. It wasn't crowded yet because I think it's a more popular lunch destination, since that's what most of the food spots sell. But everything was open already. Aside from food, they sell things like smoked/cured salmon, produce, seafood, meat, and pantry items. A lot of the restaurants seem very touristy and over-priced so we skipped eating here, but I still love coming to these markets to see all of the vibrant colors from the local goods.

Granville Island, a Vancouver treasure, seamlessly integrates culture, cuisine, and natural beauty. The dynamic public market showcases fresh produce, gourmet fare, and artisanal products. Scenic waterfront views and lively street performances create a captivating atmosphere, ideal for diverse groups. Local boutiques and art galleries offer additional allure. Our culinary experience featured delights like clam chowder pot pie and affogato. The market's lack of lobster options was unexpected. While surrounding shops were unique, prices were elevated and geared toward tourists. Our visit ended with a leisurely Aquabus ferry crossing, providing a memorable conclusion.

If you only have time to visit one place in Vancouver make it Granville Island. We took the ferry here from Yale Town and it was just the perfect day.Great food, great crafts, and a lovely setting.Try everything, then, if the weather suits, step outside on the terrace to eat your bounty and admire the views. But leave time - it was only as we left we realised there was so much more to this place than the food halls – there are so many other buildings with arts and crafts scattered around here, and we wished we’d spent the whole day here.

This is my second time at the public market. is probably the only reason I would go back. It is incredible place to find artisan food, desserts, meat and fish, and other fun stuff. I would definitely go back to keep trying new things at the public market.Businesses throughout the island seemed overpriced.

3/17/2024Loved this place. I didn't even care for shopping but so many people were happily eating and having fun. There is art, there are locals, there are fellow tourists, just everyone coming together and having a good time. Would be nice to go back before going home.

Granville Island in Vancouver is a fantastic spot for tourists! With its vibrant mix of food, drinks, and unique shops, it's perfect for finding gifts and souvenirs. The island is brimming with art and culture, making every visit a visual treat. The Public Market is an absolute must-see with its array of fresh produce and local delicacies. Although there's paid parking, I'd recommend using public transportation or biking to avoid the hassle. The regular sea bus and ferries make getting there a breeze. Enjoy your visit!

I had a marvellous time taking a water bus to the island. The expansive public market on the island had a plethora of groceries and ready-made meals. It's a paradise for food lovers. Personally, I enjoyed the pizza and Thai food, and the myriad of confections was truly extraordinary. Furthermore, there are dedicated sections for apparel, home furnishings, and handcrafted toiletries. The presence of buskers, seagulls, and the striking scenic view all combined to create an exquisite vacation experience.

Nirupama S — Google review

Definitely a must visit location in Vancouver. Fresh fruit & vegetables, artisan foods, craft markets & traders selling bespoke/unique gifts. Plenty of places to eat & drink & all set on the waterfront. A great place to visit.

This is a very popular place for tourists or locals. If you have a weekend visiting Vancouver, you should put this place in your list. This is not only a market but there are lots of interesting spots within this island and surrounding area.Actually, it is not an island but you can ride ferries in the False Creek 9 docks getting around the whole area.A great place for eat, shop, drink, browse around, rent a boat or a little cruise in the creek. There are too many foods in the whole area. Fresh food, good bakeries, pies, donuts, fresh fruits and flowers, raw food, seafood, fresh make pasta and many more.If you don't travel with a car, the best way is getting a day pass from 2 ferries companies in the island. You can buy your day pass in the ferry. It cost $20 and $18 for senior and kids. There are 9 docks around the False Creek. Take you time have fun there. The food court is very busy. If you plan eating the food outside and enjoying the view, please be aware of the aggressive seagulls. If you are lucky, may be you will meet an eagle patrol the dock area. You can talk to the handler. The eagle is good protector for us and our lunch.
